From July of 2013 to June of 2014, I was Rwanda's National Coordinator for Stomping Out Malaria in Africa, an initiative of the United States Peace Corps working to bring an end to malaria sickness and death. In July of 2007, I was awarded a competitive, paid news internship at The Las Vegas Review Journal, Nevada's largest daily newspaper. In the summer of 2006, I was selected as one of three newsroom interns for USA Today. With a circulation in the upwards of 1.6 million subscribers, the newspaper is of the biggest news outlets in America. I assisted the front page news editor, authoring features, news and briefs on deadline, including two front page stories.
